Pāli Bhāsā teaches the language of the earliest Buddhist scriptures by the natural method: no translation, anywhere. Grammar and vocabulary are learned intuitively, through story, pictures, and graded repetition, until you find yourself thinking in Pāli.

Volume II follows the young monk Nando across northern India in the Buddha's last years. Its chapters climb from simple narrative to the suttas themselves, read in the exact words of the canon, and at the close a complete sutta, heard as it was first recited.
